To mark its 60th anniversary, the Trouw Nutrition Laboratory is moving and changes its name to become MasterLab.
Previously located on Duplessis Street, the laboratory will now operate at 4760 Martineau Street in new, modern and expanded premises. Adapted to the latest technologies and in order to perpetuate its mission of excellence in precision nutrition, MasterLab will be able to count on 20% more space in its new facilities.
More than 210 state-of-the-art equipment and instruments have been moved to this new environment. These new facilities now meet the highest health and safety and environmental standards.
The laboratory, formerly known as Trouw Nutrition Laboratory, in business since 1962, took the opportunity to renew its image and unveil its new name: MasterLab.
“Since science is proof of everything in our field of expertise, we wanted to position better our identity within the company, through the international structure of Trouw Nutrition, while referring to our head office located in the Netherlands. Master refers to quality, competence, and is a reference within the scientific community across Canada” commented the MasterLab director, Hélène Lachance.
“We have been a leader in this matter for many years. MasterLab is an expert, who rules in its field and we wanted to emphasize this to better define ourselves facing competition and in the Technopole agroalimentaire that is Saint-Hyacinthe” added the manager.
MasterLab provides full service for all regular and legal needs for analysis of ingredients, forages and water samples. It is a key player in precision nutrition, making the link between agri-food production, agricultural producers, and consumers. It currently processes more than 90,000 samples per year.
The laboratory also participates in the development and validation of products distributed by Trouw Nutrition, i.e. Shur-Gain, Hi-Pro and Selko.
With about thirty people in its employ, the MasterLab has ISO 17025 certification as well as accreditations from the National Forage Testing Association (NFTA), from The American Oil Chemist’ Society as well as from the Approved Chemist Program of the Laboratory Proficiency Program.
