During the official inauguration of the Saint‑Hyacinthe Convention Centre, Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole presented Espace ici ST-H, its tourist information office located in the heart of this new major hosting infrastructure for business tourism.
After leaving the Espace Maskoutain at the start of the year, the Saint-Hyacinthe tourist information office is now fully operational in its new offices located in the new Convention Centre, which is connected to the Sheraton hotel.
“We have made every effort to offer a modern and sleek space which integrates perfectly into its environment, which also meets the new realities of the tourism market and the needs of our visitors. We are very proud of the results and we believe that the Saint-Hyacinthe tourist information office is now one of the most functional and welcoming in the network”, mentioned the Tourism and Conventions Director with Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole, Nancy Lambert.
Ici ST-H is both a space for information, a window on the region and a boutique this promotes Saint-Hyacinthe. In addition to tourist information services for the planning of a stay in our region, it offers an exhibit zone as well as technological tools that present different business sectors in the region, its history, economy and main attractions. Interactive stations, located close to the space, also allow visitors to have access to tourist information (lodging, restaurants, attractions and events) in the region 24/7.
“Our new location, in the new convention centre where hundreds of participants will circulate on a daily basis, is much more strategic and will allow us to offer a better window on tourist attractions in Saint-Hyacinthe. Furthermore, it will allow for better access for the regional populations that also uses our services”, added Bernard Forget, president of Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole.
In effect, the space is open to the public and the local population who can pick up tourist documentation for the Monteregie region and other regions in Quebec, local and regional products or products using the Saint-Hyacinthe brand, and even tickets for shows presented at the Juliette-Lassonde Arts Centre. It also has a separate entrance to the Convention Centre which is connected to the parking for the Galeries St-Hyacinthe.
Starting on June 24th and for the whole summer season, Ici ST-H will be open 7 days a week from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and weekends from 10 am to 5 pm. It is operated by Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole, the organisation responsible for the industrial, commercial and tourist development for the city of Saint-Hyacinthe.
